As many pointed out you can just yokai grapple (will not stay on yokai shift) by doing a normal (as in jjust hit strong attack) right after a successful burst counter, you can either get in the habbit of hitting strong attack after the counter or you can get used to looking at their ki bars, check zero ki for humans and zero MAX ki (not the purple bar depleted, but the threshold on top of it -Magatsuhi grace- 15% Yokai ability dmg (Corrupted enemy) Adds up to 75% Yokai ability dmg (all), 9% Yokai ability dmg (Brute), 26% Yokai ability dmg (scorched enemy) and 15% Yokai ability dmg (corrupted enemy) It's possible to push Yokai ability dmg (brute) further with Benkei's set bonus but I dont like the set so I don't use it. even if just the early-mid parts of the game, it feels like the amrita should empower your yokai form more but in reality takes nearly a whole stage to fill up, based off the demos and some early side missions i've watched so far.
